Biographical Sketch:
Jim Albrecht is Professor Emeritus of Economics at Georgetown. He has a M. A. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Economics from UC Berkeley and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Stockholm University in 2023. He taught courses in statistics, microeconomics, labor economics, and search theory at Georgetown. He has been a visiting professor at Gothenburg University, Stockholm University, the University of British Columbia, Osaka University, the Free University of Amsterdam, the University of Melbourne, UC Santa Barbara, and University College London.
His research focuses on equilibrium search and matching theory with applications to labor and housing markets.
